Aiken served as Senior Vice President, Regional Sales Manager and then, National Credit Manager of Washington Mutual’s Homebuilder Finance team from 2000 to October 2004. His responsibilities as Regional Sales Manager included marketing and origination of development and construction loans in many areas of the country. His responsibilities as National Credit Manager included supervision of all credit underwriting nationally, as well as supervision and maintenance of credit quality of a $1.5 billion portfolio. The portfolio consisted of financing to small local, as well as larger regional public and private home building and development entities across the country. From 1998 to 2000, he served as Vice President and LPO Manager for First American Bank in Houston. He was responsible for origination and underwriting of credit to home builders and developers in the Houston market. Prior to his service with First American Bank, he served 7 years with Farm & Home Savings and Charter Builder Group, primarily in loan production and underwriting capacities.
